after sustaining an injury in Scottish Cup tie against Dundee United at
Recreation Park in February 2000. Now fully recovered and looking forward to a
new season after signing a new one year contract with the club. Made all the
headlines last term when he scored Alloa’s winning penalty kick in Bell’s
League Challenge Cup Final against Inverness Caley Thistle, then went on to save
Mike Teasdale’s spot kick to win the trophy for “The Wasps”

Hendrie, the then Alloa manager returned
to his ex club Berwick Rangers, paying £ 24,000 for Craig’s services and has
proved worth every penny. An
outstanding foot baller with bottomless resources in energy and will to win.
Club Captain, who signed new two year contract at start of last season.
Captain courageous who led the club to famous Challenge Cup victory over
Inverness C.T. GERARD FARRELL (Defender)

Weight: 11.4 Signed: Airdrie, March 2000 Other Clubs: Ross County, Dunfermline Athletic and
Possill YM Made debut for Wasps in remarkable 4-3 vicory over one
of his old clubs Ross County last season at Victoria Park.. However, was injured
in the closing minutes of match and had to be stretchered off field. This
curtailed his progress in the Alloa side last season, however is now back to
fitness and looking
to establish himself as first team regular this term, adding his
experience and drive to Wasps First Division campaign. Recently requested to be
put on transfer list due to not gaining regular first team spot. MARK COWAN (Defender
) Born 16.1.71

Carlisle United Powerful flame haired defender who missed most of last
season due to achilles tendon injury. In
close season had another operation
and is slowly coming back to fitness, determined to regain place in side after

Berwick Randers April 1999 Other Clubs – Bothkennar Y.M. Stenhousemuir, Falkirk,
East Fife Very experienced player who joined club in April 1999
from Berwick Rangers to help gain Division Two status for “The Wasps”, since
then has now helped the club gain promotion to First Division and also win
Bell’s League Challenge Cup. Can
be dangerous at set pieces with pinpoint accuracy with left foot or by adding
height in box. Also recently requested transfer because of lack of first team
football.
FRANK CONWAY (Defender) Born 29.12.65

Weight: 11.10 Signed Airdrie, December, 1999 Other Clubs:- Lochee Harp, Brechin City, Livingston. Manager Terry Christie signed central defender Frank
Conway prior to Clyde game on 18th December. Frank started his career
with Tayside Junior league side Lochee Harp before signing for Brechin City in
November 1989. In August 1997 he moved to Livingston before signing for Airdrie
at the start of this season. Had been in outstanding form last season for club
before injuring shoulder against QOS at Palmerston Park which sidelined him for
last season’s run in.
GREGG WATSON (Defender) Born 21.9.70

Weight : 10.9 Signed : Livingston, July 2000 Other Clubs – Aberdeen, Partick Thistle, Livingston,
Stenhousemuir. Experienced defender who started career with Aberdeen
where he spent six seasons before moving to Partick Thistle. More recently he
joined Livingston in July 1998 and spent the second half
of last season on loan with Stenhousemuir. DEREK CLARK (Defender) Born 24.8.76

Weight : 10.8 Signed – Unattached, July, 1998 Other Clubs : Dunfermline Athletic, East Stirlingshire,
China Fortune and Millwall. Released as a youngster by Dunfermline Athletic before
playing out in Hong Kong with China Fortune. Given chance in first team under
Terry Christie turning in to one of the best players at the club. He is likely
to link defence with attack and his vision for the defence splitting pass as
well as taking on defences himself, along with robust tackling in midfield make
him a great favourite with the Alloa fans. Has been attracting attention of
scouts at recent games. MARK WILSON ( Midfield) Born 31.7.74

Weight: 10.8 Signed: Berwick Rangers, January 1997 Other Clubs- Fauldhouse United Talented player with undoubted ability, however, injury
in past has hindered progress, good on the ball with first class distribution. A
versatile player who can play in defence or midfield. Not a prolific goalscorer
but nevertheless one of the most important players at the club when injury free. MAX CHRISTIE (Midfield)
Born 7.11.71

Weight : 10st 4lb Signed – Spartans , September, 1999 Other Clubs – Hutcheson Vale, Hearts, Meadowbank
Thistle, South China Athletic, Dundee and Stenhousemuir. This is not the first occasion Max has played under his
father’s guidance, having been with him at both Meadowbank Thistle and
Stenhousemuir. Signed initially on a one month deal prior to Bell’s League
Challenge Cup tie versus Ross County at Dingwall last season, he has a fine
pedigree having spent time as a youth player with Heart of Midlothian. He then
moved overseas playing in Hong Kong with South China Athletic before returning
home to play with Dundee in the Premier Division. Progressed into one of the
side’s most consistent players of last season
and an automatic choice in side. RICHARD HUXFORD (Midfield) Born 25.7.69

City, Millwall and Barnet. Manager Terry Christie’s most recent signing on the
eve of the transfer deadline, after impressing as “Trialist” against Forfar
Athletic in pre season friendly at Station Park. A native of Scunthorpe, who
prior to joining Dunfermline Athletic in July 1998 had played all his football
in English league. Orginally signed at East End Park on short term contract but was rewarded with two
year deal after impressive displays in the Premier Division with “The Pars”,
player with tremendous shot if given opportunity, suffered last season due to
long term injury. IAN LITTLE (Forward) Born 10.12.73

Weight 8.12 Signed – Livingston , February, 2000 Other clubs : Meadowbank Thistle and Stenhousemuir. Player who had three spells for club last
season, having been on loan twice prior to moving to Recreation Park
until the end of the season. Fast, tricky player who can cause oppostion
defences no end of harm with his movement on and off the ball. Resigned again
for this season which is a great coup for the club being a player who has played
both full-time and at a higher level. CHRIS WOOD (Midfield) Born 29.9.79

Weight : 11.7 Signed – Stirling Albion, July 2000 Other Clubs : Falkirk and Gairdoch Utd. A competitive left – sided midfielder, who started as
a youth on Falkirk’s books, before returning to Gairdoch United. Early last
season broke into Stirling Albion side after being given the chance as “Trialist”.
Still a young player who is still learning, eight game ban last season will be
one record he will want to lose quickly. A player with great engine who will be
a powerhouse in midfield. Scored two goals on Alloa debut against Stenhousemuir
in Stirlingshire Cup match at
Recreation Park. Currently club’s top goalscorer this season with six goals in
all competitions. STEVEN THOMSON (Midfield) Born 19.4.73

Weight : 12.0 Signed – Hamilton Accies, June, 2000 Other Clubs : Airdrie, Stenhousemuir, East Stirling and
Kirkintilloch Rob Roy. Player who made over 175 appearances for Hamilton
Accies before being manager Terry Christie’s first close season signing. Club
captain of Accies last term in which he played at heart of their defence, can
operate in a variety of positions and has settled into a midfield berth at
Recreation Park. LEE GARDNER (Forward) Born 11.1.70

Weight : 9.5 Signed – Clydebank, July, 2000 Other Clubs : Aberdeen, Ayr Utd, Meadowbank Thistle,
Arbroath and Albion Rovers.
Vastly experienced player who can operate in midfield
or up front. Although only five
foot five will fight in middle of park for possession and his distribution and
use of ball brings others into play. Enjoys scoring goals and still has an eye
for goal when further up park. WILLIE IRVINE (Forward) Born 28.12.63

Weight : 11.3 Signed – Berwick Rangers, July, 1996 Other Clubs : Stirling Albion, Hibernian, Dunfermline Athletic, FK Vidar (Norway), FK Valerangen (Norway), Airdrie and Meadowbank Thistle. Still is Alloa’s most influential player on the park,
a terrific signing by Tom Hendrie back in July 1996. A good influence on the
younger players around him with his vocal support. A player who leads by example
and who has scored a number of important goals for the club. An inspiration
playing in midfield, always likely to create goalscoring opportunity. Scored a
hat-trick in Stirlingshire cup tie
against Dumbarton at Recreation Park in 4-1 victory showing he has lost none of
his sharpness in front of goal. ROSS HAMILTON (Forward) Born 17.6.80

Weight : 11.0 Signed – Stenhousemuir, July, 2000 Other Clubs : Grahamston B.C. Club’s most recent signing, who joins his old
Ochilview management team in Terry
Christie and Graeme Armstrong who had taken him straight from schools football
with Grahamston B.C. back in August 1998. The £ 26,000 paid for Ross is a club record and shows
the faith Terry Christie has in the player, who has progressed through the
Divisions, progressing from the Third to the Second last season, ending up top
scorer at Ochilview last season with ten goals, and will now get a chance to
prove himself in the First Division. He’s
exceptionally quick with youth on his side. Opened Alloa scoring account with
double against Inverness C.T. and more recently on target in league against
Falkirk in 1-1 draw. CHARLIE BRIGAIN (Forward) Born 15.10.80
Height : 5.80
Weight : 10.4 Signed – Musselburgh Juniors, August, 2000 Close season signing, a young striker, who joins the
club from Musselburgh juniors after securing a three month contract after
impressing in pre season training. A player for the future who has recently been
making second half appearances from bench.
STUART DAVIDSON (Midfield) Born 3.8.79
Height : 5.7
Weight: 11.3 Signed – Currently on loan from Kilmarnock Other clubs – Glasgow City B.C. Made debut for club in final of Stirlingshire Cup
against East Stirlingshire, after signing a one month loan deal from Premier
League side Kilmarnock. Joined Kilmarnock in August 1997 from Glasgow City B.C.
Played in Kilmarnock’s under 21 side last season and earned a place in
first team squad for this season , having been handed the No. 28 shirt. Featured
twice as substitute towards end of last season.
